Police unveiled a new District 2 station Monday, in downtown Bethesda, a move from the 1961 location at Wisconsin and Montgomery avenues.

The District 2 Station Opens This February

The old location, according to County Executive Ike Leggitt, did not meet “the needs of a modern law enforcement agency”. The new location is located across the street from the Bethesda Metro stop.

Although the ribbon-cutting ceremony has taken place, there are still some technological updates in the works, and the station is set to be up and running with over a hundred officers and others in February.

Bethesda, Chevy Chase, North Bethesda, and Potomac, as well as some parts of Silver Spring, are all within the jurisdiction of District 2.
